“Music is the shorthand of emotion”
I wanted to focus on the energy and passion that sound generates through music via musicians whether it is instrumental, through voice or technology. I ‘suspended sound’ by using clear acrylic in which the movement of sound is isolated in mid air, illustrated through transient lines and vivid and bold colours. I utilised the black and white pop art poster style with fluid line work, inspired by the characteristics of Art Nouveau. I aim to ‘freeze time’ so that the audience can stop and reflect; fully absorb the musical vibrations and appreciate the creativity of the musician and its relationship with the responder.

NOTE: when hung accurately, all panels are inline with each other. Unfortunately I was unable to hang this artwork evenly for the photo.
